Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us bring kidney health education and free health screenings to Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan and Hyde Park.
The Roxbury Dorchester Mattapan Hyde Park (RDMH) Kidney Disease, Dialysis and Transplant Support Group was founded in 1998 by a compassionate dialysis nurse who saw the need to educate her community about kidney disease. Since it started, she has covered most of the operating costs of the organization herself.
Your generosity will play a crucial role in helping us continue our mission of spreading the word about kidney disease in our community. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps our support group provide vital outreach, health education, and health pre-screening in our community for kidney disease, high blood pressure (hypertension) and diabetes, the two leading causes of kidney disease.
Your gift helps pay for
Free health screenings
Materials for screenings in our community: glucometers to check for diabetes, blood pressure cuffs, and specimen cups for urine tests.
Children, teens and young adults
Resources and special events for young people living with kidney disease, including field trips.
College scholarships
Scholarships for graduating high school seniors who live with kidney disease.
Spreading the word
Printing monthly meeting flyers for locations across the city, and ads in community newspapers.
Travel to meetings
Helping patients with the cost of getting to and from our meetings.
Refreshments
Refreshments served at our monthly meetings.
